The beach at Punta Bett
This is one of the Punta Bett resorts -- Los Pentos
The next day we went out the new road to Merida hoping to get off
before too long and go to a old ruin that has never been uncovered. But,
there was no exit and we had to go all the way to Valldadolia to get off.
We then drove north to a ruin called  Ek balam.  On the way we passed
through a small old town called  Temozon  . More about that later.
We finally reached the Ekbalam Ruin at the Archological Zone, and proceeded to enter. We  noticed that ours was the only car in the lot.
Naturally the first thing you have to do is get tickets. The state run site charges $3.00  US a person.
Ekbalam is a nice little ruin still in the process of being revived by the gov. Not too many tourist know about it , and  most of the tours hav'nt found it yet. The guy selling tickets is the live-in caretaker, and does his job well.
Most of the buildings are described by stone markers. Some of those are seen here.  Some of the old building hav'nt been uncovered yet, as seen in the last picture.
The largets building seen here has a long set of steps leading to the top.
